Coaches

The L. Bentley O-Line Academy is based on two simple facts:

  1. A good football team has a good offensive line.
  2. A great football team has a good offensive line and high-quality reserves.

More time = Better play
The challenge to all coaches at every level is time.  It takes time to teach proper technique and pad level.  Time is the only way to develop the mental toughness, which translates to physical and passionate play.  Hours of grueling training are the only way to develop powerful linemen.

The L. Bentley O-Line Academy is the place where time becomes a friend and not a foe.  We’re an extension of you and your system.  Unlike the South, Southwest and West Coast, Ohio does not have spring football.  Between March and April, thousands of high school offensive linemen across the country are preparing for their upcoming season, and not just through training and chalk talk but through actual on-field full contact practice.  Through rules and regulations set by OHSAA, coaches are not afforded this luxury as southern counterparts.  It is said that, “repetition is the father of greatness,” and so time is the only way to get reps.  We feel the O-Line Academy bridges the gap between exposure and practice time between Ohio linemen and thousands of other high school linemen across the country.

Scholarships and financial aid
Due to the rising cost of college tuition and student loan interest rates, for some parents and coaches, the opportunity for scholarships or financial aid is extremely important. The competition has the leg up on this based purely on geography.  There are more than one million high school football players, of which 306,200 are high school seniors.  Only 5.7 percent of high school football players will have the opportunity to play college football and only 1.8 percent will play pro football after college.  The O-Line Academy doesn’t guarantee scholarships or NFL careers, but we do make sure players get better and to fill the void of time that other states have.

Maintain chemistry
Your concern may be losing the chemistry of your team by not having the offensive linemen train after school with their teammates.  This concern is very reasonable.  But if that’s the issue, send all five of your starters and your reserves.  They will train as a group and do drill work as a group. This concept goes beyond what is offered anywhere at any level.  How much better will your team be by having your linemen spending their off-season training together and under the instruction of a proven Pro-Bowl NFL lineman?

Coach, the O-Line Academy doesn’t know everything, but we know we can help your lineman become smarter, healthier, stronger, better players, which in turn helps your team.
